Peer researchers
Our research team consisted of full-time university researchers, and part-time peer researchers (also known as community researchers). Peer researchers are people who guide and conduct research based on their life experience of the topic being studied. Peer researchers bring their experience and persepctives around being a person from a racially or ethnicaly minoritised community, social networks, and wellbeing, to guide and jointly produce key recommendations based on the project’s findings. We involved peer researchers from the beginning of the study, to incorporate their expertise and lived experience in every aspect of the CONNECT study. This project sought to amplify the voices of people from local communities. Meet some of our CONNECT peer researchers here.
